This extension to Shepton Mallet was one of the early plans supported by the Prince of Wales, as the Duchy of Cornwall owned part of the land, and a joint venture was set up with the farmer of the remaining land. It was developed over several phases with different developers and architects but the unity of the design was controlled with the layout and with design codes. It has 550 new dwellings, mostly houses with some apartments and lower-income housing indistinguishable from open-market housing. The new district is in easy walking distance from the centre of town and includes its own green spaces and live-work homes.
