New Town in Sussex.
An ambitious new town for 7,000 to 10,000 homes including full work, leisure, retail and civic functions to create a complete and self-contained community. The plan is shaped by the existing geography, a stream and river valleys run east to west and the centre sits alongside a large park, in the manner of a traditional spa town. The town centre sits alongside the park and is fully connected for journeys by foot, bike and bus. The masterplan includes a full range of house types for all ages and budgets, each district with its own local centre. Robert Adam worked with fellow urban designers, Allies and Morrison, who took responsibility for the town centre plan.
